Definitions of Personal Computer ToolsOne of the first and probably the most important tools for a personal computer is the anti-virus. An antivirus keeps harmful viruses out of your computer. If a virus invades a computer, the first thing that the virus attacks is the computer hard drive. The virus then begins to corrupt each file one after the other until it has, destroyed all of the files. Once it is, done there, it works on the other systems within the computer until the entire computer is a lump of useless metal. An anti- virus prevents the virus from entering in to the computer at all. The anti- virus will contain the virus in a vault, then delete the anti- virus, and repair any files the virus invaded for you. You must have a good strong Anti- Virus on your computer. A firewall- is similar to an anti-virus however it blocks things like spy-ware, spam, mal-ware, pop ups, and a firewall can be set to keep out adult materials if you set it too. If you have small children, a firewall needs to be, enabled on your computer. A Firewall is a form of protection for you as well as for your computer. Your computer is equipped with other personal computer tools as well like a task scheduler- this task scheduler allows you the computer owner to set up specific tasks for your computer to perform when you set it to. Tasks such as a disk defragmenter- this will scan your computers files (all of the files within your computer) and return them into the proper categories. You move files around when you use your computer without realizing and this replaces them to the proper places in the computer. The task scheduler also allows you to set a time to do a disk clean up. This deletes all of the temporary downloaded files, websites, cookies and web pages you have been to. This keeps your computer from having to remember all of these places and things at one time and slow your computer down. Your computer has what is called a control panel the control panel lets the computer owner fix, remove, install, and change any of the setting, devices, programs, and set password or block content. This is an important part of the computer. This can also harm or remove things form your computer if you do not use it correctly. So use caution when doing things in the control panel if you are not sure what to do then it is best to leave it alone until you have help. You can install other helpful tools onto your computer if you wish to. Things like programs that make your computer much faster, things like PC Updaters, Driver Robots, and PC Checkers, all of these will help your computer to receive vital updates and these will uninstall old out of date materials and install the new current updates for you.
